The Wiltern Bag Policy 2025: Complete Guide to What You Can Bring to This LA Venue

The Wiltern Bag Policy

Located in the heart of Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood, The Wiltern is an iconic Art Deco venue that has hosted legendary performances since its 1931 opening. Whether you're attending a sold-out concert, comedy show, or special event at this historic theater, understanding the bag policy before you arrive is essential for a smooth entry experience. All bags will be searched prior to entry, and knowing what's allowed can save you time and hassle at the security checkpoint. This guide covers everything you need to know about The Wiltern's bag policy to help you prepare for your visit.

What Bags Are Allowed at The Wiltern?

The Wiltern has established clear guidelines for acceptable bags to ensure guest safety while allowing you to bring essential items. Here's what you need to know:

  • Maximum Bag Size: Bags up to 12″ x 6″ x 12″ are allowed in the venue
  • Clear Bags: While not mandatory, clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bags are recommended as bags that are not clear will be subject to an additional search
  • Small Clutches: Small clutch bags measuring 4.5″ x 6.5″ or smaller are permitted and often move through security faster
  • Mandatory Searches: All bags will be searched prior to entry, so arrive early to allow time for security screening
  • Coat Check Available: There is a coat check service available inside the ticket lobby for a service fee of $5 if you need to store larger items

The venue's bag policy is designed to expedite entry while maintaining safety standards. Opting for a smaller bag or clear tote will help you get through security checkpoints more quickly.

Tips for a Smooth Entry

Planning ahead can make your arrival at The Wiltern stress-free. Here are practical tips to ensure you breeze through security and enjoy your event:

  • Arrive Early: Generally, the main time you see displayed on each event is the door time. Show time is normally 1 hour after doors. Give yourself extra time for parking and security screening.
  • Use Mobile Tickets: All our events will be Mobile Entry. That means your mobile device will be used to gain access to the event. Have your tickets ready on your phone before reaching the entrance.
  • Bring ID: Be prepared to show your ID, especially if you plan to purchase alcohol or need box office assistance.
  • Go Cashless: Cashless payments will be available at all points of sale and are recommended. The venue accepts major credit cards and Apple Pay.
  • Pack Light: The smaller your bag, the faster you'll move through security. Consider bringing only essentials like your phone, ID, and payment card.
  • Know the No Re-Entry Policy: There is no re-entry allowed once your ticket is scanned, please bring any items you need for the show duration with you to the venue.
  • Parking Information: The most convenient lot is the Ralphs parking structure, adjacent to the venue. Enter from Oxford street and only through the north entrance – not the Ralphs entrance.
  • Consider Public Transit: The venue is conveniently located across from the Metro Purple Line's Wilshire/Western station, making public transportation an excellent option.

By following these guidelines and preparing in advance, you'll maximize your time enjoying the show rather than waiting in line. The Wiltern's bag policy is straightforward: stick to bags under 12″ x 6″ x 12″, avoid prohibited items, and consider using a clear bag for the quickest entry. With proper planning, you'll be ready to experience an unforgettable evening at one of Los Angeles' most beloved historic venues.
