Xfinity Theatre Hartford Bag Policy 2025: What You Need to Know Before Your Concert

Xfinity Theatre Hartford Bag Policy

Planning to attend a concert at Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut? Understanding the venue's bag policy before you arrive can save you time, frustration, and ensure a smooth entry into one of the largest amphitheaters in the country. To reduce staff contact with guest belongings, Xfinity Theatre has implemented a clear bag policy that allows only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC tote bags no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and/or small clutch bags (6″x 9″). With a capacity of 30,000 guests and strict security protocols, knowing what bags are permitted will help you focus on enjoying your show rather than dealing with entry issues.

Whether you're heading to the reserved seating area or planning to enjoy the show from the expansive lawn, this comprehensive guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the Xfinity Theatre Hartford bag policy, prohibited items, and tips for a hassle-free concert experience.

What Bags Are Allowed at Xfinity Theatre Hartford?

Xfinity Theatre has a strict bag policy designed to enhance security and expedite entry for all guests. No other bags of any type will be allowed beyond the two approved options listed below.

Approved Bag Types:

  • Clear Tote Bags: Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bags no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ are permitted. These bags must be made of transparent material so security can easily view the contents.
  • Small Clutch Bags: Small clutch bags (6″x 9″) are allowed regardless of whether they're clear or opaque. These compact bags are perfect for carrying essentials like your phone, wallet, and keys.

Important Notes:

  • All bags are subject to search upon entry
  • Guests may refuse a search, but this may result in denied entry
  • Backpacks of any size are strictly prohibited
  • Large purses and tote bags that don't meet the clear bag requirements are not allowed

Tips for a Smooth Entry to Xfinity Theatre Hartford

Follow these practical tips to ensure you breeze through security and maximize your concert experience:

1. Invest in a Clear Bag
Purchase a clear plastic or vinyl tote bag that meets the 12″ x 6″ x 12″ size requirement before your event. These are widely available online and at sporting goods stores. Having an approved bag means you can carry more essentials while complying with venue policy.

2. Arrive Early
The Xfinity Theatre offers free parking for ticket holders but recommends arriving as early as possible to guarantee a spot. The lots open up to three hours before the gates open, which is typically 90 minutes before showtime. Early arrival also means shorter security lines.

3. Pack Light
Bring only the essentials: phone, wallet, keys, and any necessary medications. The less you carry, the faster you'll move through security checkpoints. You know the drill—metal detectors, maybe a pat down, and a bag check if you've got one.

4. Leave Prohibited Items at Home or in Your Car
Please leave prohibited items in your vehicle. The venue does not offer storage for items that don't meet policy requirements, and re-entry is not permitted at Xfinity Theatre. If you do leave at any point in the evening, you will not be allowed back in without a new ticket.

5. Know Your Parking Options
Paid Premier Parking and Reserved Parking are located adjacent to the main entrance of the facility and be accessed at the intersection of Savitt Way and Weston Streets. No additional charge for parking in the Railtech lot located at the intersection of New Road and Weston Streets, one light north of the entrance to the Premier Parking lot. Consider purchasing an E-Z Out Parking pass in advance for quicker exit after the show.

6. Go Cashless
We no longer have ATMs on site. We do offer a free “CASH TO CARD” option located at Guest Services. We will exchange any cash denomination for a prepaid card to use at the venue. This prepaid card works anywhere credit and debit cards are accepted.

7. Check Event-Specific Requirements
Some artists do not permit cameras so please check back for the show you will be attending to ensure that we will be allowing cameras in. Always review the specific event page for any additional restrictions.

8. Need Accessibility Assistance?
The path from the main entrance to the covered seating areas and the lawn is accessible by wheelchair, but is also uphill and approximately 200-300 ft long, depending on the path you choose to take. Visit our Guest Services booth at the main entrance if assistance is needed to reach your seat. For questions, contact the venue at (860) 548-7370.

By following Xfinity Theatre Hartford's bag policy and preparing ahead of time, you'll spend less time in line and more time enjoying world-class entertainment at one of Connecticut's premier concert venues. Remember: clear bags or small clutches only, no backpacks, and always arrive early for the best experience!
