Xcel Energy Center is divided into four spectator levels — a lower bowl, a club level, a suite level, and an upper bowl — wrapping around the arena floor.
Surrounding the floor are lower, club, and upper level sections numbered 101–116, C01–C40, and 201–230. Lower bowl sections (101–126) have rows numbered 1 to 26; club level sections (C01–C40) have rows from 1 to 8; and upper bowl sections (201–230) have rows from 1 to 11.
The suite level sits mid-arena and offers premium amenities including access to exclusive lounges and food and beverage service. The Minnesota Wild Club seats are located just above the 100-level section and comprise sections C1–C40; fans with club-level tickets enjoy great sightlines and access to all club-level lounges. For concerts, the best seats in the end-stage configuration are the first 10 rows in the floor sections Center, Right, and Left.

Xcel Energy Center History and Renovations
Xcel Energy Center opened on September 29, 2000, and was built specifically to attract an NHL expansion team to Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The arena was built on the site of the demolished St. Paul Civic Center, and the push for a new arena grew after the NHL’s Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas. The arena was constructed at a cost of $173 million, with 30% of funding contributed by public sources and the remaining 70% invested by the Minnesota Wild. The arena is owned by the city of Saint Paul and operated by the Wild’s parent company, Minnesota Sports & Entertainment.
The arena features a large LED circular center-hung scoreboard with multiple displays and nearly 1,100 feet of ribbon display technology; the center ice display was replaced in the summer of 2014, with the largest of the 10 LED screens measuring 37.5 feet wide by 19 feet high. In 2015, the arena began replacing every seat in the building with cushioned seating, a project that was finished by early 2016.
Looking ahead, the arena is now facing a major renovation. The Xcel Energy Center, which opened in 2000, is in its final year of its intended 25-year lifespan, and a renovation is required to preserve the city-owned facility and maintain its status as an exceptional local and statewide destination. The costs for renovations are estimated at $769 million, with the city asking the state to pay for half of those costs, the Minnesota Wild owner funding 30%, and the city contributing the other 20%. Planned improvements would include upgraded seating options, security and accessibility enhancements, new HVAC and wiring, and the addition of public-facing restaurants attached to the building’s exterior.
